Volt’s Shampoo is not your typical shampoo. Most shampoos suck, and aren’t in travel bottles. Let me explain.
There’s a thing in most cheap shampoos out there called sulfates. Sulfates are the chemically-derived salts that add the foaming and cleaning properties of shampoo. They are used because they are cheap, can be made in bulk, and are good cleaners. Actually they are too good at cleaning.
Your hair and skin is sensitive. Their health is reliant on many factors, some of which include temperature, hydration, uv exposure, humidity, and much more.
In fact, your skin secretes an oily substance called sebum in order to keep the skin and hair naturally moisturized, strong, and elastic. What happens when this oil strips away? Crazy damage occurs.
Cheap shampoos are generally very harsh and strip away lots of the oil your skin truly needs. You may think this is cleaning your skin, when in reality all you are doing is causing damage.
Cheaper shampoos do this because they rely on the sulfates I mentioned earlier. But here’s the kicker, it doesn’t cost all that much to get a better shampoo that doesn’t rely on these harsh cleaners.

Here’s the problem, though. Remember when I was saying that a gentle cleaner is better? Gentle cleaners don’t remove all of the nautral oils your skin and hair actually need to stay healthy. Well, the exact same happens in your beard, but now it’s REALLY important to keep some natural oils.
Why? Well, the skin on and around your beard and face is much more sensitive than the skin on your scalp. So, it goes to show that you should use an even more gentle cleaner, because any little change in the oiliness or dryness of your skin can start causing breakouts, redness, irritation, and who knows what else.
Shampoo is NOT a beard wash substitute like most people believe. Shampoo is just too harsh on the skin around your face, and your beard will require a more gentle and natural touch than shampoo often gives.
